Eye of Horus · Player Guide

Eye of Horus Hit Frequency

A slot can tell you that you won while your balance still goes down. Here’s why that isn’t a contradiction.

Hit ≠ Profit Hit frequency ≠ RTP All samples, never official figures

20 Spins · Illustrative, £1 Stake

Paying Spins0
Profitable Spins0
Session Result£0

Illustrative example, a pretend 20-spin session, not a real or official Eye of Horus result.

Why a winning spin can still cost you money

A Hit Is Not a Profit

Suppose you bet £1. The reels stop and Eye of Horus returns £0.30. The game has found a winning combination. Your balance has still fallen by £0.70.

That spin counts as a hit even though it didn’t return the full amount wagered. This is why hit frequency is easy to misread. It tells you how often a spin produces a qualifying winning result. It does not tell you how much those wins are worth, whether the session finishes ahead, or the same thing as RTP. Those three ideas have to stay separate, and this page keeps them separate throughout.

Five Spin States, the visual language used on this page

Every tile on this page is marked by an icon, a border style and a text label together, never by colour alone.

A sample session, not an official game statistic

One Hundred Spins, Laid Out

Each square below is one illustrative paid spin at £1 stake, in an intentionally irregular pattern, real results don’t arrive in neat blocks. Switch layers to see the same 100 spins three different ways.

Spins100
Paying Spins31
Sample Hit Rate31%

Sample session, not an official game statistic. 31 of 100 illustrative spins returned something.

Same label, three different results

One Hit, Three Outcomes

Change the return on this single £1 illustrative spin. The tile keeps saying “HIT” the entire time, only the Net Result changes sign.

HIT 0.25×
Stake£1
Return£0.25
Net Result−£0.75

Hit classification never changes here. Net result does, from a loss, to break-even, to a genuine profit.

An expanding Horus can create several winning lines from one spin

Five Winning Lines. One Hit.

Suppose an expanding Horus lands on reel 3. Three, four, even five paylines can win from that single reel outcome. How many spins was that? One. Hit frequency counts the spin, not the number of paylines it lit up.

Line Wins5
Paid Spins1
Paying Spins1

Do not derive hit frequency by counting winning lines. One reel outcome is one paid spin, however many lines it lights up.

Two games, the exact same hit rate

Same Hit Rate, Completely Different Money

Both of these illustrative 100-spin sessions at £1 stake pay on exactly 30 spins, a 30% sample hit rate, identical in both. The money that comes back is nothing alike.

Session A · Many Small Hits

Paying Spins30
Typical Return~1.6× each
Total Returned£48

Session B · One Big Result

Paying Spins30
Typical Return29 small + one 100×
Total Returned£111.60

Identical 30% sample hit rate. Session B returns more than double Session A. Hit frequency alone never tells you this.

29% hit frequency ≠ 29% RTP

A 29% hit rate means roughly 29 paying outcomes in 100 observed spins of that sample. 96% RTP means £96 theoretically returned per £100 wagered over an enormous number of spins. Never place these two figures beside each other without labels.

Your own sample, not the game’s official statistic

Run Your Own Sample

This runs this page’s own simulation of the homepage demo engine, the real 3-line paytable and reel weights from this site’s embedded game (no Wild, Scatter or free spins, exactly as that demo behaves). Add spins and watch the sample hit rate move around. It is still just a sample.

What Real Samples Look Like

Irregular, clustered, unpredictable

Breaking the same 100 spins down by value

Not All Hits Are Equal

Take the 31 paying spins from the 100-spin board above and split them by what they actually returned.

Partial Returns18returned less than stake
Break-Even3returned exactly stake
Profitable9returned more than stake
Feature1one strong result

“Paying spins: 31” sounds generous. Only 10 of those 31 ever increased the balance.

One Strong Feature vs. Everything Else

29 Ordinary Hits, Combined£25
1 Feature Result£70

One illustrative feature result can out-earn dozens of ordinary hits combined. Hit frequency alone can’t explain the size distribution behind it.

A symbol landing is not automatically a paying result

Appearing Is Not the Same as Paying

Horus Wild

Horus expands, nothing connects£0
Horus expands, small line connects£0.40
Horus expands, several lines connect£18

Scatter

One Scatter lands£0
Two Scatters land, no trigger, no line win£0
Three Scatters land, free spins triggerFeature

Two Scatters landing with no payout under the game’s rules is still a non-paying result, however exciting it looks. The Wild is a mechanic; the payout decides whether the spin was a hit.

What this site can and can’t verify

Two Figures That Stay Separate: Neither Published

Feature Frequency Split

Overall Hit FrequencyNot Published
Free Spins Trigger FrequencyNot Published

An overall hit frequency does not tell you what share of spins trigger free spins. Ordinary line wins make up most hits; a feature trigger is a separate, usually much rarer, event. Never merge the two or estimate either from a handful of demo spins.

Provider Definition

Provider DefinitionNot Published
Official Hit FrequencyNot Published
Includes Bonus Outcomes?Not Verified
Last CheckedNot Published

Exactly how a provider counts hit frequency, base game only, every reel outcome, feature triggers, or the whole paid round including its bonus, comes from the provider’s own game mathematics, not from counting animations.

Presentation and pace change the feel, never the rate per spin

Faster, Louder, Still the Same Per-Spin Rate

Turbo plays more spins per minute. It does not raise the chance that any individual spin pays. Always compare hit rate per spin, not hits per hour.

Normal Speed

Spins / Hour100
Illustrative Hits~30
Hit Rate30%

Turbo

Spins / Hour300
Illustrative Hits~90
Hit Rate30%

Three times the spins, three times the illustrative hits, the same 30% sample hit rate. More hits per hour is not better odds.

Winning Sounds Layer

HIT £0.80 on a £1 stake, net −£0.20

The sound, the flash and the WIN label can make this feel like a win. Financially it is still a loss. Muting the presentation changes nothing about the number underneath.

Reading one illustrative session three different ways

The Session Scoreboard

Illustrative session. Not a real or official Eye of Horus round.

Wins42
Losses58
Money Result−£28

42 vs 58 looks close. The bankroll didn’t care how close the win/loss count was.

Session A · More Hits
Paying Spins38
Total Wagered£100
Total Returned£74
Net Result−£26
Session B · Fewer Hits
Paying Spins17
Total Wagered£100
Total Returned£103
Net Result+£3

Session A hit more than twice as often as Session B and still finished further behind. Count money, not hits, to know how a session actually went.

Educational model, not Eye of Horus probability data

The Hit Frequency Lab

Move the sliders to build your own illustrative 100-spin model at £1 stake. Nothing here is drawn from a real or published Eye of Horus figure. It exists to show how hit count, typical small returns and one larger result interact.

Total Staked£100
Model Return£12
Model Net−£88
Sample Hit Rate30%

“Model Return” is this slider model’s own arithmetic, not an RTP estimate for Eye of Horus or any other game.

Published RTP genuinely differs between releases, 94.83% is cited for one Reel Time Gaming version, 96.31% for a Blueprint-distributed one. The game’s own information screen is the only reliable source for any of the rows above, for whichever exact version you’re playing.

Hit Frequency, in Short

Count hits to know how often something paid. Count money to know how the session actually went.

A hit is not the same as a profit

Several winning paylines on one spin are still one hit

Short samples move around. They don’t prove a true rate
