Eye of Horus Winning Combinations

See exactly how regular symbols, Horus Wilds and several paylines combine to create winning spins.

22 Worked Cases 10 Real Paylines This Site’s Paytable

Case 01: Simple Line Win

Ankh, Ankh, Ankh, different, different on one active payline: three matching symbols from the required side, nothing else needed.

No Horus. No Scatter. No free spins. Just three matching symbols on a valid route.

This is the baseline every other case in this guide builds on. Reels 4 and 5 hold different symbols, but the line has already paid by the time it reaches them.

Reel screen

Case 02: Same Symbols, No Line

Same screen as Case 01, with one change: the third Ankh has moved from the middle row to the top row on reel 3.

Three Ankhs are still on screen. None of this changes what Line 1 actually contains.

The game reads positions along specific paths, not symbol count across the whole screen. Move a matching symbol off the active line and the win disappears, even though nothing else changed.

Reel screen

No path is drawn here, the three Ankhs do not sit on one active line.

Case 03: Extend the Same Line

Start from the Case 01 win and keep extending it. Reel 4 joining the run qualifies for the four-symbol payout; reel 5 joining reaches the five-symbol payout for Ankh.

Always read a line to the end, don’t stop checking at the first three matches.

Use the buttons to extend the match from three symbols to four, then five, and watch the payout change live.

Extend the match

Live payout for Ankh at this length: of the stake.

Case 04: Same Length, Different Symbol Value

Same five-reel line shape, but swap the symbol. A Premium symbol instead of Ankh pays much more, because the symbol sits higher in the paytable.

Length and symbol rank both matter.

Five Ankhs, five lower symbols and five Premium symbols are three different-value combinations despite identical structure, one full line, five reels long.

Same shape, two symbols

Screen A · 5× Ankh
Screen B · 5× Pharaoh’s Mask

Screen A shown above. Screen B uses the identical shape with Pharaoh’s Mask on every reel instead.

Case 05: Sequence Breaks on Reel 4

Pharaoh’s Mask on reels 1, 2 and 3, a different symbol on reel 4, then Pharaoh’s Mask again on reel 5.

This counts as three matching symbols, not four.

The sequence ended at reel 3. Reel 5 can’t jump over the gap, no matter what it shows.

Reel screen

The Mask on reel 5 is real, but it is not connected to the run, the path already broke on reel 4.

Case 06: Does Not Start From the Required Side

Four matching Premium symbols sit on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5. Reel 1 holds something different.

Four matching symbols on screen is not the same as a four-symbol line win.

On this site, lines are read left to right starting from reel 1, the same convention this site’s own engine uses. A run that begins on reel 2 does not qualify, because the rules care where the combination starts, not only how many symbols match. Confirm this against the information screen of the exact version you are playing; not every release evaluates lines the same way.

Reel screen

No path is drawn, reel 1 breaks the run before it can start.

Case 07: Diagonal Payline, Valid Win

Paylines aren’t always horizontal. Line 4 runs top, middle, bottom, middle, top, a V shape across the grid.

Symbols don’t need to sit in one row, just on the same line.

Five matching Anubis symbols along that V-shaped path pay exactly like five in a straight row. This is what makes a 10-payline layout look busier than three flat rows.

Case 08: Horus Completes a Line

Ankh, Ankh, Horus, Ankh, different. Horus substitutes for the missing Ankh on reel 3, and the run continues.

One Wild position, one missing symbol filled.

Horus itself has no fixed cash value here. It simply lets the Ankh run reach reel 4 instead of stopping at reel 2. The combination around it is what gets paid.

Reel screen

Reel 5’s Queen is different and irrelevant, the run already stands at four.

Case 09: 5 Premium Symbols With Wild Substitution

Same Wild position as Case 08, reel 3, but Premium symbols surround it instead of Ankhs.

The mechanism is identical. The result is not.

Pharaoh’s Mask on every other reel plus Horus on reel 3 completes a full five-symbol Premium line, Horus didn’t get more valuable, the combination around it did.

Case 10: One Wild Position, Several Lines

One Horus Wild sits on reel 3, middle row. Four different real paylines cross that exact cell.

The game evaluates each line independently. The player chooses nothing.

The same physical Wild position can behave as an Ankh on one payline and a Premium symbol on another crossing the same spot. Pick a line below to trace it.

One Wild, three lines

All three lines and all three payouts are real. This is the same 10-line data used throughout this guide.

Case 11: Before and After Expansion

Reel 3 is the one to watch. Step through what happens as Horus lands there and then expands across the whole reel.

One Wild reel can complete more than one line at once.

Reels 1, 2, 4 and 5 never change. Only reel 3 changes, and each stage below shows exactly what that does to the paylines crossing it.

Reel 3, three stages

Reel 3 holds ordinary symbols. None of the three lines below connect yet.

Horus lands on reel 3, middle row only. The middle line (Pharaoh’s Mask) now connects.

Reel 3 fully expands. The top and bottom lines now connect as well, three lines from one reel.

Case 12: Three Wins From One Horus Reel

The same expanded reel from Case 11, shown as a payout receipt.

Line 1, Line 2 and Line 3 all use the same expanded reel and all pay separately, then sum.

A large total can come from several modest wins added together, not one spectacular one.

Regular (non-Wild) symbols that sit where several paylines cross can also contribute to more than one winning line, the expanding Wild simply makes it easiest to see.

Case 13: Quantity vs Value

Screen A produces five separate three-symbol lines of a low-value symbol. Screen B produces one five-symbol Premium line.

More lines does not always mean more money.

Number of wins and amount won are different things, the paytable, not line count or length alone, decides. Length alone doesn’t settle it either: five weak symbols can still pay less than three of the strongest.

Five winning paylines here are still worth far less than one payline of five top Premium symbols.

Case 14: Scatter Condition Met

Three Eye of Horus Scatters, scattered across the grid rather than sitting on one payline.

Free Spins Unlocked.

Scatter rules are separate from ordinary line combinations, the Scatter’s job is triggering the feature, generally via its own count-based rule, not a left-to-right line. Don’t trace a payline through Scatters like you would Ankhs.

Reel screen

No payline path is drawn, the three Scatters don’t need to share a line, only a count.

Case 15: Horus Does Not Complete the Scatter Trigger

Scatter, Scatter, Horus. Two Eye of Horus symbols and a Wild on reel 3.

Feature Trigger: No.

Horus substitutes for ordinary paying symbols; the Scatter stays its own category. Scatter, Scatter, Horus does not normally count as three Scatters, confirm this against the exact version you are playing, but the separation is the standard approach.

Case 16: Upgraded Symbol, Still Needs a Valid Payline

Free Spins · 2 Upgrades Active

Inside the free spins feature, two upgrades have already removed the lowest two tiers from the reels. Lotus is now the weakest symbol that can land.

The feature changes the symbols, not the payline rules.

An upgraded symbol still has to occupy positions on one valid line. It doesn’t get a win for free. For the full upgrade mechanism, see the free spins guide.

Case 17: Nearly Fully Upgraded, Reel Expands

Free Spins · 4 Upgrades Active

This is the largest case on this page. Four upgrades have already removed the four lowest tiers, so only Scarab, Anubis, Pharaoh’s Mask, Horus Falcon and Eye of Horus can still land. Then the Wild reel expands.

Case 18: Read This Screen

Six Ankhs, four Premium symbols, several low-symbol matches, two Scatters, no Horus. It looks like a lot is happening.

The game pays valid routes, not visual density.

Reel 1 and reel 2 never share a symbol anywhere on this screen, on this grid, that alone rules out every one of the 10 lines before reel 3 is even checked. Click through to confirm it.

Case 19: Win

Less visual activity. Better structure.

This screen looks far calmer than Case 18, and it is the one that actually pays.

Method

Reading a Winning Spin in Four (or Five) Steps

1 Find the starting symbol, on reel 1.
2 Trace the payline it sits on.
3 Count consecutive matching reels.
4 Check the paytable row for that length.
5* If Horus appears: what is it substituting for on that line?
Worked Example 1

Pharaoh’s Mask ×2, Horus, Pharaoh’s Mask ×2 on one active line.

Horus substitutes on reel 3→
5 matching Pharaoh’s Masks→

Worked Example 2

Ankh, Ankh, Horus, different, Ankh on one active line.

Horus saves reel 3, not reel 4→
Combination stops at 3 positions→

The reel-5 Ankh in Example 2 doesn’t matter to this line, Horus cannot save a gap it isn’t sitting in.

Case 20: Winning Combinations BUT Net Loss on the Spin

Three paylines win on the same spin. All three numbers below are real wins. The spin still loses money.

“Winning combination” and “net profitable spin” are not the same thing.

Case 21: Stronger Multi-Line Result

Four lines pay on the same spin, and this time the total clears the stake by a wide margin.

Reading the line breakdown shows why, not just the total.

Case 22: Cash vs Multiplier

Two spins, two stakes. One returns less cash but a bigger multiplier; the other returns more cash at a smaller multiplier.

Bigger cash win does not necessarily mean bigger multiplier.

Illustrative · both stakes and returns below are example figures, not this site’s paytable.

Combinations Do Not Become Due

What Creates the Strongest Spins

  • Premium symbols
  • Long matches
  • An expanded Horus reel
  • Several active paylines at once
  • An advanced free-spins state with upgrades
All of this
is outside
player control

What Does Not Work

  • Past wins don’t predict the next symbol
  • A line that just won twice isn’t less likely to win again
  • Going a long time without a big line doesn’t make one “due”
  • Rare combinations can stay absent a long time. That’s part of why they support larger payouts

No combination can be planned. The useful part of this page is understanding why a result is large when it appears, not trying to engineer it. The paytable reflects probability, not an obligation tied to how long you’ve been watching.

Summary

The Five Main Combination Types

Normal line win, 3, 4 or 5 matching regular symbols on one valid payline.

Wild-assisted win, Horus replaces one missing symbol so the line continues.

Expanded-Wild multi-line win, Horus fills a reel, several paylines benefit at once.

Scatter trigger, its own count-based rule, not a normal paying line.

Upgraded free-spins win, symbols changed earlier in the feature, often with Horus helping.

Winning Combination Anatomy

Starting Reel× Matching Symbol× Consecutive Reels× Valid Payline× Wild If Available= Winning Combination

The paytable determines the value. Everything above decides whether a combination exists; only the paytable decides what it pays.

In Short

Everything on this page, compressed.

Start from the required side, follow one active payline, match across consecutive reels.

Three matching symbols commonly begin the payout structure; four and five usually pay more.

Premium symbols generally pay more than lower symbols at the same length.

Horus substitutes for regular symbols; an expanded Horus can contribute to several paylines.

The Scatter follows separate trigger rules, don’t trace a payline through it.

Several winning paylines can sum on one spin. More lines doesn’t automatically mean more money.

A winning combination can still net a loss on the spin once the stake is subtracted.

None of what already happened tells you what must happen next.
